Growing up, Alex Schwartz spent massive amounts of time walking in the woods and climbing trees, becoming a true nature enthusiast at a very young age. These days, she’s channeling that enthusiasm by double majoring in Environmental Studies and International Studies at the University of Wisconsin – Madison. After a year-long study abroad stint in Israel, she recently turned her travel-ready eye to the Appalachian Trail for a camping course, where she cultivated a new passion for salamanders—though she reports she has yet to see the Blue-Spotted guy from our logo. When she’s not in the classroom or outdoors enjoying the sun, you can find Alex reading, scrapbooking, spending time with family and friends, or whipping up a new vegan recipe.
